Young Professional Think Deep Programme 2024, Hong Kong

In October 2024, I have been attending the Young Planning Think Deep Programme in Hong Kong, organised by ISOCARP – International Society of City and Regional Planners in partnership with ITACUS – the ITA Committee on Underground Space.

This technical seminar was hosted by HKIE Geotechnical Division, Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), Hong Kong SAR Government and The University of Hong Kong. It included lectures by experts in the design and planning of underground spaces, site visits and learnings from the locals.

Hong Kong is a complex territory. It is growing very fast, creating new challenges for the future. Collaboration between architects, planners and engineers is crucial to tackle the problems and provide precise solutions for the city.

I am grateful for this incredible opportunity to work with high-level professionals and a truly immersive experience in Hong Kong culture. Special thanks to my teammates who have worked to meet the needs of the West HK community in our proposal.

I’m delighted to share that we won 1st place in this competition and I couldn’t be more grateful! 🇭🇰
